Sarah Lawrence College Athletics

Ryan Heslin-Cunningham stepped into the role of Head Coach for the Sarah Lawrence Softball Team prior to the 2025 season, after serving as an assistant coach for the Gryphons since 2022. Heslin-Cunningham is a graduate of the University of Vermont.

2025
In year one, Heslin-Cunningham managed the team to a trio of victories, sweeping conference opponent Yeshiva before taking a game against York before weather intervened. The team also battled late into the season, with two close games against conference contender Manhattanvillle in late April, as well as a close result with St. Joseph's Long Island just days later. Heslin-Cunningham helped continue the development of Kyra Johnsen and Malia Rode as all-around players, while mentoring newcomer Isabella Boissonnault, who took charge behind the plate for SLC.

2026
Heslin-Cunningham continued to develop Sarah Lawrence's young roster in 2026, allowing Boissonnault, Johnsen and Rode to grow while getting meaningful contributions from newcomers Miriam Kanter-Goodell, Caileigh Koenig, Claire Rollins and Nicaia Sharp. Heslin-Cunnigham's work allowed for sweeps of both Yeshiva and York, with a season-ending matchup against Mount Saint Vincent being decided by a narrow margin.
