BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – For the second time this season, Sarah Lawrence College first-year Skyler Vallarta (Brea, Calif./Sonora) has been named Skyline Softball Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

It's the fourth time this season and the third consecutive week that a member of the Gryphons softball team has earned weekly recognition from the Skyline Conference.

Vallarta batted .444 (8-for-18) with five runs scored, helping the Gryphons pick up wins over Baruch and St. Joseph's Brooklyn.

Vallarta is having a terrific rookie campaign, ranking second in batting average (.446), third in slugging percentage (.554), third in hits (25) and fourth in total bases (31).

Delaney Parker (Milford, N.H./Milford) was named to the Honor Roll after a 2-1 week in the circle. Parker posted an ERA of 2.33, guiding Sarah Lawrence to wins over Baruch and St. Joseph's Brooklyn. Parker's victory over the Bears was win No. 7, passing Kamaron McNair (Lawrence Township, N.J./The Hun School) for the most wins on the mound in a season in program history.

More importantly, Vallarta and Parker have helped the Gryphons accumulate their most wins (16) in team history and the most this season in the Skyline.

The Gryphons wrap up the regular season this weekend, looking to solidify their first-ever berth into the Skyline Tournament. Sarah Lawrence will play at Old Westbury on Saturday (Apr. 28) and conclude at Farmingdale State on Sunday (Apr. 29).
