BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - For the second time this season, women's volleyball rookie Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) has been named Skyline Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
Coleman guided Sarah Lawrence to a 3-1 week, posting 52 kills, 18 service aces and six blocks.
The rookie began the week with 18 kills, four aces and two blocks in a five-set victory over Maritime. It was the team's first victory over the Privateers since 2014, its first five-set win since 2014, and Sarah Lawrence's first five-set triumph at Noyes Court since 2004.
Coleman later led Sarah Lawrence in both kills and aces in victories over King's (N.Y.) and Old Westbury. She recorded 13 kills and 10 aces against the Lions, while finishing with 13 kills and four aces against the Panthers.
Overall, Coleman leads the team this season in kills (119), service aces (29) and blocks (16).
Sarah Lawrence returns to action Thursday (Sept. 28), resuming conference play at Farmingdale State.Â
