BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence first-year Enike Anyia (Los Angeles, Calif./Wilbraham & Monson Academy) has been named Skyline Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.

Anyia averaged 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds over a three-game stretch against St. Joseph's Long Island, Merchant Marine and Purchase. Anyia reached double-figures in all three contests, shooting an impressive 68-percent from the field. In the team's 79-73 victory over Merchant Marine, the first-year posted his second double-double of the season, recording career-highs in points (19) and rebounds (12).

Anyia is having an impressive rookie season with the Gryphons. Anyia is the team's second-leading scorer (12.3) and is tied for a team-best 7.1 rebound per contest.

Anyia is the third Gryphon this year to earn Skyline Rookie of the Week accolades, joining Lauren Ashby (women's soccer) and Melanie Coleman (women's volleyball). The first-year is also the fourth Gryphon in program history to earn rookie of the week honors, joining Parker Hagemeier, Joseph Kleeman and BJ Sanders (Silver Spring, Md./Georgetown Prep).

Sarah Lawrence returns to the court Tuesday (Dec. 5) against Mount Saint Vincent at Campbell Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
