Melanie Coleman (Forest Hills, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) has been selected to the Skyline Women's Volleyball All-Conference Second Team, announced on Monday. In addition, Coleman was named Skyline Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Year.
A two-time Skyline Rookie of the Week recipient, Coleman had a strong rookie campaign, pacing the Gryphons in kills (259), aces (48) and blocks (21). Her 259 kills are the most in a single-season and the third-most all-time in program history. Coleman was one of three Gryphons to play and start in all 25 matches this season, posting double-digit kills 12 times.
Coleman is the first Gryphon women's volleyball player to earn Rookie of the Year recognition and the third Gryphon to earn Skyline All-Conference accolades, joining
CJ Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev./Basic) and
