The Sarah Lawrence College Department of Athletics and Physical Education is proud to announce the
30 a Day Summer Fitness Program.
Many studies have shown that just 30 minutes of daily exercise can have profound positive impacts on an individual's well-being. Strong evidence links physical activity to lower risks for many adverse health outcomes, including stroke, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. Benefits also include improved fitness and better cognitive function.
Participants in the 30 a Day Fitness Program are challenged to perform 30 minutes of physical activity every day throughout the summer. Points are earned for each day of activity and bonuses reward consistency.
Workouts can be done anywhere! Campbell Sports Center continues to be open throughout the summer, but you can participate in the 30 a Day Program from wherever you are and even take it on vacation.
The 30 a Day Fitness Program is intended to be fun and cooperative. Set your own goals and encourage your friends to make exercise a part of your daily lives. A 30-minute workout every day of the summer amounts to 45 cumulative hours of activity (nearly two full days) and will help you maintain that fitness momentum into the fall semester.
All members of the Sarah Lawrence College community are invited to participate in the program, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and their respective families.
The 30 a Day Fitness Program begins Monday, June 3 and ends on Saturday, August 31.
