MADISON, N.J.—Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer had a 1-1 performance against squads from Berkeley College (N.Y.) and Yeshiva University at a tournament hosted by Yeshiva at Farleigh Dickinson University Soccer Field on Sunday. The Gryphons lost to Berkeley, 3-0, before rebounding to defeat Yeshiva, 3-2.
In game one, the Gryphons played a solid first half but were unable to convert on five close-range, one-on-one opportunities. In the second game, sophomore
Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India, Inventure Academy) netted a pair of goals, scoring one on an assist by
Rodrigo Cuenca (San Diego, Calif., La Jolla Country Day); Yeshiva had one own goal.
“We had our chances in the first game,” noted Co-Head Coach Hassan Turner. “It was a great all-around effort in both games.”
Sarah Lawrence men's soccer returns to the field in September. The team's opener is tentatively scheduled for September 5, when the Gryphons will host York College at Tibbetts Brook Park.
