NEW YORK—At the conclusion of the 2013 Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Saturday, the league announced the members of 2013 All-HVIAC Women's Tennis Team. Sarah Lawrence College sophomore
Nora Landes (Los Angeles, Calif./Cleveland Humanities Magnet) and first-year player
Autumn Atkinson (Manasquan, N.J./George School) were among the conference's eight honorees.
Landes earned her second all-conference honors following a selection to the 2012 All-HVWAC squad. In 2013, she posted an 8-8 record in singles play and an identical 8-8 mark in doubles play. Six of her 16 wins came in HVIAC matches, earning her the No. 2 seed in both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles brackets at the HVIAC Championships. Landes advanced to the championship match in both flights, finishing as a double runner-up.
In her rookie season, Atkinson was a three-time HVIAC Player of the Week and two-time Rookie of the Week. She and classmate
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central) amassed a flawless 15-0 doubles record on the season. Entering the HVIAC tournament as the top seed at No. 3 doubles, the duo won their championship match, 9-7, to become HVIAC Champions. Individually, Atkinson posted a 12-3 singles records with a 3-0 ledger in HVIAC matches. She was runner-up in the No. 3 singles championship.
